Often found lurking around the Brixton Windmill, Bella Artois has released their new EP Waiting For A Wife. Appropriately arriving under the cover of darkness (midnight last night), the project is imbued with naughtiness and an ambitious sonic palette. The opening track 'Nuclear Life' begins fairly unassumingly, as wonky guitar work tumbles into the belly of the beast. Picking up the pace with rapid drums and melodic bass guitar, Bella Artois' deadpan vocals exude wit and an arid sense of humour, noting 'I'm dicking about, waiting for a wife', before poking fun at the perversity of the "nuclear family" ideal.
